2014...Really?!

I can't believe that it's been so long since I posted anything here. Guess I should get my priorities back in line. A lot has happened since October 2012, nearly two entire seasons worth. Let's recap in a Reader's Digest Condensed version manner; 2013 was spent doing several sprints, and an Olympic, a half marathon and HHH Triple threat. HHH Triple Threat was my big event for the year. 22 miles of MTB race, 100 mile endurance ride and finally, a half marathon trail run. The race was fun and all of my friends did well. I had a pretty bad crash on the MTB that made the rest of the weekend a little more challenging than it needed to be, but everything went well. The trip home was a little harrowing as we broke down in SW Oklahoma. A lift from some friends who had seen us at the side of the road was most welcome. The climax of the season was Xterra National Championships in September. I found out I had received enough points to be invited the week after I got back from TX from HHH. After a little coaxing from my wife, I decided that I would go. I trained as much as I could for this event even though HHH was kind the A event for me in 2013. I had a poor showing there as I found I was not prepared for the altitude nor was I prepared for the amount of steady climbing this course is known for.
